The HKS Prize is open to all secondary school students enrolled in Hong Kong secondary schools, who may submit three artworks online with each submission consisting of no more than three pages each. Submissions will then be judged by a panel of judges; one submission will win the Judges Prize worth HK$8,000 while their school also receives an honorarium of HK$10k as prize.
Winners will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas to key stakeholders within the development sector and will also receive a certificate. Winning projects should be creative and possess potential for creating positive changes within society.
Since our founding 25 years ago, many of our winners have gone on to become prominent leaders across various fields, such as artists and entrepreneurs. We hope our prize will inspire the next generation of leaders, encouraging them to embrace challenges and explore their full potential.
Winners will be honored at an awards ceremony and invited to take part in our workshops and masterclasses, while being provided opportunities to showcase their works at one of our music festivals.
On Tuesday morning at the Hong Kong Palace Museum as part of this year’s Future Science Prize 2023 award laureates shared their discoveries with Hong Kong primary and secondary school students at an assembly designed to inspire future scientists. Topics ranged from high-temperature superconductors to neural networks and the award laureates encouraged young scientists to keep an open mind when seeking knowledge.
HKYPA was established in 1961 and is an active member of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Association. Through a series of voluntary and challenging activities, this Award promotes young people with perseverance and self-restraint – Bronze and Silver participants must complete four sections, while Gold Award participants need to undertake an extra residential project.
BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION PRIZE is organized and hosted by Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation with sponsorship from Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited and supported by the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Prize’s Charter seeks to promote scientific, standardized management while assuring its review process is handled professionally, objectively, impartially. Operation of the Prize should support Basic Law as well as comply with high levels of social morality and professional ethics.
Judging is conducted independently and openly for each category. Initial evaluation of each nomination will be handled by its appropriate judging panel; final adjudication of both product-based categories and company-based ones will be overseen by a joint final judging committee; these procedures are detailed in the Charter. Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation’s Board is responsible for overseeing and administering BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYINNOVATION PRIZE, including suggesting important scientific research areas; creating the Review Committee and Compliance Oversight Team; setting criteria for nominating experts; verifying and approving review results, among other responsibilities.
